The union does not strike a new dependent on the will of the government or not "adjust or alter his bill."
The National Federation of ports and docks CGT (FNPD-CGT), welcomed Wednesday the monitoring of the strike by 24 hours in the autonomous ports in protest against the proposed port reform, adopted the same day Council of Ministers.
Its secretary general, Daniel Lefebvre, was "welcomed" the magnitude of this movement even though it is no surprise, because we know what think and want the port workers, "he told AFP .
The CGT does not exclude a new strike that order, depending on the will of the government or not "adjust or alter his bill."
A meeting of the federation, ultra majority in the autonomous ports, will take place next week to analyze the "new elements," said Lefebvre. Meanwhile, the CGT maintains the modalities of action in place since April 14 including a stop of 24 hours per week is set at each port, the abolition of overtime, outstanding work and three night meetings per week. "
"The fact that the Council of Ministers has approved (the text) does not mean that this will finally this project is to be adopted at the end of parliamentary debate," said Mr Lefebvre. "Even if the law was adopted in the state, anyway, there will be negotiations to be absolutely essential," he added. The reform, desired by the Government to improve the competitiveness of ports, provides, inter alia, to privatize the handling by transferring including crane and portiqueurs to the private sector, like their colleagues Dockers in 1992.
"We're in the presence of a bill which sets out principles and is completely silent on social conditions," lamented Mr. Lefebvre. The CGT has participated Wednesday in a meeting with other union representatives and representatives of employers under the leadership of Yves Cousquer, former president of Aeroports de Paris designated by the Secretary of State for Transport as "facilitator" of dialogue between the parties involved in the reform.
This meeting comes within the framework of a series of meetings aimed at finding a framework agreement by October 31, on how to transfer to the private personnel handling port.
