A narrow majority of French (51%) intends to reduce its budget devoted to the summer holidays, reveals a CSA poll to be published in the Sunday edition of the newspaper Sud Ouest.

To the question "Do you increase or decrease your budget for your summer vacation compared to previous years", 51% of respondents replied "reduce", 26% "neither one nor the other", 16% "increase" and 7% do not.
Youth (under 30 years) are least likely to consider reducing their budgets (49%) and more likely to think the increase (30%). In addition, left-wing sympathizers are planning a 57% cut corners on costs, when they are 39% right and 44% among centrists.
Finally, 61% of workers and employees are planning to reduce their expenses, against 51% of managers, the professions and occupations intermediaries. It is also the case for 56% of employees, including staff (59%).
The survey was conducted by telephone on 6 and 7 May on a national sample of 1,006 people aged 18 and older, established after the quota method.
