Airbus, a framework agreement with the Russian VSMPO-AVISMA

it announced it has signed with its subsidiary Airbus, a framework agreement with the Russian VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation, the leading producer of titanium in the world, on the supply titanium.

The agreement, which covers the supply of titanium to Airbus and other divisions of EADS until 2020, reinforces existing relations since the early 1990, extending the range of value-added products purchased in Russia.

The contract includes the supply of products rolled round and flat titanium, and covers parts matricées aimed at the whole range Airbus, including new programmes such as the A350XWB. The Russian group could also be machined titanium products, to develop a supply chain vertically integrated, ranging from supplying raw materials to finished products.

VSMPO-AVISMA will remain a leading supplier of titanium for Airbus / EADS, and will cover most of their needs titanium. The purchase of materials, which was one of the earliest Airbus activities with Russia, is now part of a cooperation programme on a large scale Airbus with Russian industry. The agreement could reach a value of $ 4 billion.
